コナミデジタルエンタテインメントは、6月23日に放送された「オリンピックバーチャルシリーズ」野球競技について、「ベースボールトーナメント」と「ホームランダービー」の優勝者を発表した。
「オリンピックバーチャルシリーズ」野球競技は、国際オリンピック委員会（IOC）と5つの国際競技連盟が主催する初めてのバーチャルスポーツ大会だ。
ホームランダービーでは、大坂亮平さん（プレイヤー名：ポメ）が見事優勝となった。
ベースボールトーナメントの決勝戦では、森翔真さん（プレイヤー名：ショーラ／使用チーム：キューバ）と加藤誉士典さん（プレイヤー名：TAKU／使用チーム：オーストラリア）の熱戦が繰り広げられた。延長の末、9対3で森さんが勝利し、見事史上初のオリンピックバーチャルシリーズの優勝者となった。
