自分だけのオリジナルキャラクター「マイプレイヤー」を使って自由に過ごせるオンライン上の仮想空間が、過去作の「ネイバーフッド」（ご近所）から数倍も広くなったマップを誇る、今までにない規模のオンライン・バスケットボール・コミュニティを擁する「ザ・シティ」（大都市）になって登場。
ここには、高層ビル、広大な広場、商業施設などがあり、個性豊かなライバルチームが牛耳る自治区も存在します。
