本作ではAIがさらに進化。攻撃面では、ゴール前で斜め方向に走り、リアルなパスを受ける動きを追求した「ダイアゴナルラン」、サイド攻撃のチャンスにサイドバックの選手が積極的に攻撃参加する「オーバーラップ」、さらにポストプレイの際に周囲の選手がタイミング良く走り出す動きなど、チームの自由度を高める動きを大幅に改善。
マンツーマンディフェンスの際のマーク精度の向上、ゾーンディフェンスの際のマークの受け渡しなど、守備面でもリアルサッカーに極めて近い改良が実現した。
シリーズで人気の高い、クラブチームの監督を体験できる「マスターリーグ」や1人のサッカー選手人生を体験できる「ビカム・ア・レジェンド」の他、オーナーとなってクラブチームを運営する「クラブオーナー」も新たに搭載されている。
