「ボーダーランズ プリシークエル」は、「ボーダーランズ」の続編（Sequel）と、「ボーダーランズ2」の前編（Prequel）のストーリーが描かれるシューティングRPG。本編では、惑星・パンドラの月を舞台に過激なムーン・ガンアクションが体験できる。
また本作では、強力なレーザー銃や冷凍銃などのユニーク武器を駆使する4人の新プレイヤーキャラクターが登場するほか、プレイヤーは敵役にして愛すべき嫌われ者“ハンサム・ジャック”が如何にして冷酷な暴君へと変容していったかを伺うことができるぞ。
