「Road 96」は、プレイヤーの選択肢がストーリーを大きく左右するアドベンチャーゲーム。1996年の夏、崩壊の危機に瀕した国から脱出するため、1人の少女が数千キロ離れた山中にある国境を目指して旅する姿が描かれる。
少女は旅の途中で、助けを必要とする人々と出会い、さまざまな決断を迫られることになる。その決断によって少女の国境への旅は大きく変化し、そこから幾千もの物語が生み出されていく。
