ソニー・コンピュータエンタテインメントジャパンアジアは、PS4用ソフト「グランツーリスモSPORT」を発表した。
「グランツーリスモSPORT」は、「グランツーリスモ」シリーズ最高のクオリティを実現すると同時に、「モータースポーツを生まれ変わらせる」ことを目指した作品だ。
また、これまでドライビングゲームをプレイしたことがない人でも、クルマを運転することが楽しくなるような、誰にでも開かれた作品となるよう開発しているという。
「モータースポーツを生まれ変わらせる」ことを実現するため、「グランツーリスモ」はFIA（国際自動車連盟）との間にパートナーシップを結んだ。このパートナーシップによる取り組みとして、年に一度開催のFIAセレモニーにて、本作のオンラインプレイで行うチャンピオンシップ優勝者の表彰を予定している。
すでに100年以上のリアルなモータースポーツの歴史を持つFIAと共に、「グランツーリスモ」はこれからのモータースポーツの100年をデザインし、新たな歴史を築いていくとしている。
